Our Irish dream

We are Elizabeth and Marjan. Our life in Ireland started more than 25 years ago. Together with Harry, Elizabeth's husband, also Marjan's best friend, we began our Quillhouse adventure. In this large country house, where we live a large part of the year, we organised creative holidays for small groups.

In 2002 we opened the Quillhouse Cottages, built on a piece of land behind our garden. Since then, we have welcomed many tourists, in addition to the groups in our own home.

Unfortunately, our wonderful life was shaken up when our Harry, a familiar face to many guests for years, suddenly passed away in 2020. He was our captain, our inexhaustible source of energy and we miss him every day.

A new beginning

Together we have put our shoulders under his and our beautiful dream. We resume our Quillhouse journey, but we have stopped organising the creative group holidays, because without Harry it is not the same. We will, however, continue renting out our Quillhouse Cottages, and do our utmost to uphold the high standard and offer our guests the comfort and service they are used to. 

Apart from that, we fully enjoy all the beauty around us, together with Harry and Elizabeth's children and grandchildren, as well as the many friends and family who regularly visit us in our paradise. We'll  warmly welcome you when you come here to enjoy all the beauty this part of Irleand has to offer.
